Wildlife Photography and Sir Quentin Blake at The Drang Gallery this Burford Lights Weekend
The Drang Gallery has two special exhibitions planned for the Burford Lights weekend, Friday 27th to Sunday 29th November.
James Lewin: award-winning wildlife photography
The gallery is showing the work of James Lewin, the young black and white wildlife photographer who has just been named a category runner-up in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2026 awards. His award-winning image is on display alongside the rest of the short series it belongs to, a real coup for the gallery and for Burford.
An exclusive showing of Sir Quentin Blake RA
For the Burford Lights weekend only, the gallery will also host an exclusive exhibition of recent drawings by Sir Quentin Blake RA. The gallery's director contacted Sir Quentin after buying two of his works at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and being struck by the quality of his latest drawings.
There will be a drinks reception on the Friday evening 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., with further events on the Saturday 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to drop in and see these remarkable works.
Coach length restriction on Priory Lane
Oxfordshire County Council has approved a 12-metre length restriction for coaches on Priory Lane. Burford Town Council has recommended the restriction go ahead before the two-year period from the first consultation, in December 2024, runs out. Local retailers will feel the effect of fewer coach visitors.
