What we collect
Only what you type into the membership form: your name, role, business name, email, phone number, business address, website, type of business, a short description, and whether you agree to be listed and would like to share an offer. The form also has a hidden field that real visitors leave empty, which helps us filter out automated spam.
Why we use it
- To deal with your application and reply to you. This is a step you ask us to take before becoming a member.
- To publish your business in the directory, but only if you tick the listing consent box. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
Who sees it
Form submissions are received through our website host, Netlify, and read by the Chamber. We do not sell your details or use them for advertising. Netlify processes data on our behalf and may do so outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies and has no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. Fonts are served from this site, not from a third party. After you apply, your browser keeps one small note on your own device (local storage) so that member offers show on the Member offers page. It never leaves your device.
How long we keep it
We keep application details while you are a member and for as long as we reasonably need them afterwards. Ask us and we will delete them.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email chair@burfordchamber.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
